Assyrian History in Three Parts

This project is an exploration of Assyrian diaspora identity through textiles and symbols. Using ancient and modern Assyrian clothing as a reference, I embroidered symbols onto the weaving that represented three periods of our history. I hand dyed wool with traditional dyes to use for the red overshot pattern and the yellow embroidered trim.
